The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is a pickup truck long known for its exceptional durability and towing/payload prowess. It’s also equally known for its off-road capabilities, thanks in part to the features that give the model an extra boost when tackling formidable terrain. Learn what off-road features come standard and are available.

Off-Road Trims

For best off-road performance, aim for one of two trims designed for off-road terrain. The first is the TRD Off-Road, which comes with a locking rear differential as standard. You also have the option to add a front stabilizer bar disconnect.

The other trim is the brand’s iconic TRD Pro. The 2024 model year comes with FOX® QS3 Internal Bypass shocks and IsoDynamic Performance Seats. Furthermore, the truck is fitted with 33-inch Goodyear® Territory R/T tires for ultimate traction.

Another off-road trim is the Trailhunter — as implied in its name, this trim comes with a number of trail-ready features. This includes an ARB modular sport bar and high-mount air intake. The front bumper also has a higher ground clearance, and the undercarriage is fortified with Old Man Emu® Suspension with Underbody Protection.

i-FORCE MAX

Buyers can upgrade to the available i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain. This generates 326 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. The electric motor is mated to a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission; the end result is instant torque when navigating uneven terrain and hills.
