The 2021 Toyota Sienna Hybrid is available at Heritage Toyota Catonsville, and for the first time, the minivan is available exclusively as a hybrid. The automaker has made some major modifications; find out what’s new and why it’s worth checking out if you’re in search of a family vehicle.

The Engine

Under the hood of every Toyota Sienna trim is a 2.5-liter engine mated to two electric motors, delivering a total of 243 hp. It has a combined fuel economy of 33 mpg - a 12 mpg increase from the 2020 model. There’s an option for an upgrade to all-wheel drive, which includes a third electric motor that supplies power to the rear wheels.

Platform Upgrade

The 2021 Toyota Sienna Hybrid is also now built on the TNGA platform. The end result is a body that’s several inches longer and wider. Like the previous model, buyers will still have the option between seven-seat and eight-seat configurations.

The New XSE Trim

In addition to the LE and XLE trims, there is also now a new XSE trim that has been described as “sporty.” This upper trimline comes with a more pronounced and sleeker front and rear bumpers as well as 20-inch wheels with a polished dark finish. The interior includes a mini refrigerator and a built-in vacuum cleaner.

Interior Comforts

A few optional interior upgrades are available to really make the minivan ideal for long family commutes. This includes seven USB ports, rear entertainment system, and a whopping 18 cup holders. For the driver, a voice amplifier makes it easy to speak to the second and third-row passengers.
