Toyota automakers have announced some new additions to the 2021 Toyota Corolla, which is slated for a fall 2020 release. One inclusion is the limited-edition 2021 Toyota Corolla Apex. What makes this package so alluring, and why should buyers take notice?

All About the Toyota Corolla Apex

The Toyota Corolla Apex will be available for the SE and XSE trims. Upgrades include summer tires and a tuned chassis and suspension. The engine remains the same – a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 169 hp.

The kicker, however, is the sport-tuned exhaust system the engine is paired to. It’ll also come with a CVT transmission with an optional manual transmission. With the latter, the system features Intelligent Manual Transmission (iMT) with automatic rev-matching.

Exterior Design

A few design tweaks have been made, most notably in the front fascia. It has more of an aggressive and sporty appearance with an added front and rear spoiler. A copper accent runs across the frontal area of the car. Another enhancement is an aero kit with redesigned fog light covers and front splitter.

The Suspension

The track-tuned suspension has been stiffened to improve steering response and body roll. The stabilizer bars also have higher rigidity to reduce body roll. The vehicle has been lowered by half of an inch. While seemingly negligible, this does improve handling and stability. In total, suspension in the rear has been stiffened by 33% and the front by 47%.
