The Toyota Sienna

The Toyota Sienna is our brand’s minivan and is designed for carpooling and traveling with bulky items in tow. This vehicle can also be modified to secure and transport a wheelchair-bound rider. The second- or third-row seats can be removed and replaced with harnesses and hooks installed to secure the wheelchair.

The configuration is made possible thanks to the automaker’s subsidiary department, Toyota Mobility. Conversions come courtesy of two trusted providers: BraunAbility and Vantage Mobility International.

Ramp Type

Three main ramps are available to select from.

Fold-Out Ramp

With fold-out ramps, a portion of the cabin floor is removed and replaced with a fold-out ramp that can easily be folded in and out in seconds. Upon opening the door, the vehicle height also lowers to decrease the ramp angle.

In-Floor Ramp

The in-floor ramp is similar in architecture to the fold-out ramp. The main difference is that in-floor ramps fold into the cabin floor when not in use, whereas fold-out ramps rest against the door. With the former, the ramp stays out of sight and consumes minimal space.

Rear Entry Ramp

As the name implies, rear entry ramps fold out from the rear of the vehicle. With the wheelchair secured in the rear, additional detachable seating can be added to maintain maximum seating.

Disability requirements and needs can differ quite drastically between families. Visit Heritage Toyota Catonsville to learn more about our plethora of customization options.
